Being a new parent comes with its own set of challenges. One of those challenges is in finding stuff that works for you. Here’s a list of stuff that works for me, that I find useful with when and why. Roughly listed in the chronological order of as and when we’ve needed them. May keep adding to it once I find something useful. (note that the list and links are India specific)
- Baby Onesies for clothes: Much easier to change esp. when you need to do it every 2 hrs in the first couple of months.
- Luvlap muslin swaddle cloth: very comfortable to use
- Baby Carrier cum sleeping bag: to move the newborn baby from A -> B.
- Philips Avent Sterilizer : One of the first purchases made once we figured the babies would be ejected from the NICU and mother’s milk was be tough to come by. Equipment needed to be sterlized before each use and boiling everytime was not an option. One thing it misses is drying the bottles after sterlization. If I had to buy one again, would look at a sterlizer-cum-bottle-dryer.
- Baby Diaper changing clutch mat: Easily one of the most useful products purchased. Quick to deploy, easy to use at home as well as to pack.
- Muslin cloth face wipes: when the milk dribbles from their faces.
- Liquid Cleanser to wash feeding utensils.
- Big magnetic whiteboard: to write down all feed and medicine dispensing times. I tried a lot of baby feeding tracking apps but the good free ones were not available in my region.
- Sebamed Body Lotion: for babies skin nourishing routine.
- Stackable Transparent Storage Organizers: to organize everything you need and be able to manage things easily.
